Family of Anita Rose found with serious injuries in Brantham near Ipswich in suspected attempted murder speak of devastation
The family of a woman who is in a critical condition after being found with serious injuries on a village track in a suspected attempted murder have spoken of their devastation - as police release an image of her.
Anita Rose, 57, who had been walking her springer spaniel Bruce, was discovered by a member of the public lying face down on a track off Rectory Lane, in Brantham, on Wednesday at about 6.25am.
She remains in Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a critical condition with serious head and brain injuries.
In a statement issued through Suffolk Police, Anita’s family said: “Mum is a local woman who walked her beloved dog every day.
“As a family we are devastated and thank the public for their support so far. If anyone has any information, please come forward and speak to the police.”
Anita left her house at about 5am to take Bruce for a walk.
She was found lying on the track road near the sewage works and railway line
The missing pink zip-up jacket is described as waterproof in material and believed to be from an outdoor clothing brand, possibly from Regatta.
Police believe the outstanding jacket and iPhone could hold key information or evidence to the investigation.
Officers have released an image of Anita, taken on the morning of the incident from a doorbell camera.
Numerous police inquiries have been taking place, including forensic work, searches, house-to-house inquiries and CCTV analysis.
A spokesperson said officers have continued to be visible in the area and to engage with the community.
They thanked the public for their support.
