In a statement issued through Suffolk Police, Anita’s family said: “Mum is a local woman who walked her beloved dog every day.

“As a family we are devastated and thank the public for their support so far. If anyone has any information, please come forward and speak to the police.”

Anita left her house at about 5am to take Bruce for a walk.

Yesterday, police launched an appeal to find her mobile phone – an Apple iPhone – and a pink zip-up jacket which police believe she was wearing immediately before the incident.

The missing pink zip-up jacket is described as waterproof in material and believed to be from an outdoor clothing brand, possibly from Regatta.

Police believe the outstanding jacket and iPhone could hold key information or evidence to the investigation.

Officers have released an image of Anita, taken on the morning of the incident from a doorbell camera.

Numerous police inquiries have been taking place, including forensic work, searches, house-to-house inquiries and CCTV analysis.

A spokesperson said officers have continued to be visible in the area and to engage with the community.

They thanked the public for their support.
