Ipswich Town Football Club and Ed Sheeran to donate goodies for Ipswich mayor's charity ball on behalf of Emmaus
A mystery package from Ed Sheeran and signed Ipswich Town Football Club memorabilia are among the prizes up for grabs at major black tie event.
Mayor of Ipswich John Cook will host his charity ball at the Corn Exchange on Saturday, which returns after a four-year absence.
It will help raise funds for Suffolk-based charity Emmaus and the work they do with people at risk of homelessness.
The last event was scheduled for 2020, but was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Attendees will receive welcome drinks, as well as a three-course meal donated by the East of England Co-Op.
In addition, there will be entertainment from Co-op Juniors, Anna Mudeka and the opportunity to tap your toes to music by Blondie and Ska.
The main event will be an auction and tombola with prizes.
Goodies on offer include a cruise for two donated by Fred.Olsen, VIP tickets and annual passes for Jimmy's Farm, a box for 10 at a Colchester United game, signed ITFC memorabilia, a mystery lot provided by Ed Sheeran, a coffee master-class at Paddy & Scott, a box for four at the opening night of Sister Act at the Regent Theatre and an overnight stayat Salthouse Harbour Hotel in the waterfront, with breakfast included.
Cllr Cook said: " "Ipswich businesses have been really generous, and I expect the ball to raise thousands of pounds to support Emmaus' work for local people at risk of homelessness.
The annual Charity Ball is one of the highlights of the Mayor’s calendar. I look forward to meeting everyone on the night, in aid of such a great cause. Emmaus Suffolk does great work helping vulnerable people in our local community.”
