Man assaulted outside Poundstretcher in Ipswich remains in hospital after three arrested
A man assaulted in Ipswich town centre remains in hospital after suffering lacerations to his face.
Police were called to Upper Brook Street at 5pm yesterday, where they found that the man in his 20s had been involved in a confrontation.
Three men, aged 32, 33 and 39, were arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.
They were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre, where they remain for questioning.
A police spokesman said: “Detectives do not believe this to be a random attack and understand that the victim and suspects were known to each other.”
Yesterday witnesses on social media said a police cordon was in place outside Poundstretcher in Upper Brook Street - previously Wilko.
