Saxmundham Chapel Road death 'not suspicious' say Suffolk Police
The death of an elderly woman in Saxmundham yesterday is not being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.
Officers were called to Chapel Road in the town at around 9.20am following reports of a medical emergency.
An ambulance, first responder vehicle and air ambulance were also in attendance but a woman, in her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was cordoned off by police while investigations were carried out.
Police have now confirmed that, following a Home Office post-mortem examination held today, they do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
The victim's next of kin have been informed and a file is now being prepared for the coroner.
