Woman in 40s taken to hospital and road closed after bike collides with car in Rushmere Road, Ipswich

A cyclist has been taken to hospital following a crash which closed an Ipswich road this morning.

Police were called to Rushmere Road at around 5.40am to reports of a crash involving a bike and a Hyundai 110.

The cyclist, a woman aged in her 40s, sustained serious injuries and has been taken to Ipswich Hospital by ambulance.

The road remains closed and police are still on the scene.

Witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 59 of June 14.
