Ipswich Town striker James Norwood to appear in court on December 8 after having been charged with drink driving
An Ipswich Town striker will appear before magistrates in December to answer a drink driving charge.
Footballer James Norwood, 30, of Cockfield, is accused of driving an Audi Q8 when over the limit in the village on August 30. Breath tests are said to have revealed 58 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
He was set to appear before Suffolk Magistrates' Court this afternoon but his hearing was adjourned until December 8.
It comes after it was announced last month that Norwood suffered a hamstring injury which would see him taken out of action for six weeks.
An Ipswich Town spokesman said: "We are aware of James’ situation.
"A charge of drink driving is clearly a serious matter but the club will not be commenting further until the case has been concluded."
