Cordon in place in Foxhall Road, Ipswich, after Ford Focus crashes into bungalow




A driver has been arrested after a Ford Focus crashed into a bungalow in Ipswich in the early hours.

Police were called to Foxhall Road, at 12.12am today, to reports a car had gone into the wall of the property, near to the roundabout junction with the A1189.

Witnesses saw two men walking away from the white Ford Focus following the crash.

The men were then seen heading along Foxhall Road in the direction of Ipswich town centre.

A police spokesman said a male was detained at 7.38am, and arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving - he has been taken to hospital for treatment.

A cordon at the scene is still in place and is likely to remain there for some time, while the building is checked and the vehicle is removed.

Following the crash, the council, structural engineers and utilities service engineers were called to assess the damage.

Police are asking for any witnesses or anybody with any information to get in touch with them.

Residents in the area with CCTV or a doorbell camera, or anybody driving with a dash-cam are being asked to review footage to see if there is anything relevant.
