Closure orders placed at two flats in St Margaret’s Green, Ipswich

Closure orders have been placed on two flats in Ipswich.

Officers attended an address in St Margaret’s Green today as part of a crack down on anti-social behaviour and drug dealing.

When they arrived, six people were forced to leave and two people were handed community protection warning letters due to their conduct at both the block of flats and in the town centre.

At two flats at the complex, closure orders were issued, preventing anyone except the person who lives there from entering for 24 hours.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said: “We hope this sends a message to those who cause nuisance for their neighbours through antisocial behaviour and drug dealing activity.

“Should the behaviour reoccur, we will look to secure permanent closure orders via the Magistrates’ Court.”
