Body of man found in Hawthorn Drive, Ipswich, as police probe ‘suspicious’ death




The body of a man has been found on an Ipswich estate.

Officers were called to a property in Hawthorn Drive, Chantry, shortly before 6pm yesterday.

When they arrived, they found the body of a man in his 60s inside, although his death is currently unexplained.

At this time, Suffolk Police is treating his death as suspicious, although inquiries are at an early stage.

A Home Office post-mortem examination is expected to take place in due course.

Police remain at the scene, at a block of flats, in Hawthorn Drive.

Officers are appealing for anybody with information or who saw any suspicious activity near the address between December 24 and January 1.
