Body found in River Thames near Wapping confirmed to be that of missing Ipswich man Gurbaksh Sually

A body found has been confirmed to be that of a man who went missing more than a month ago.

Gurbaksh Sually, 37, of Ipswich, known as Simon, was reported missing on November 24.

He was last seen near London Liverpool Street station on November 23.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police found a body in the River Thames, near Wapping, on December 13.

The body has now been formally identified as Mr Sually, a spokeswoman for the Met Police said.

His family are being supported by specialist officers.

The investigation has been closed.
