Blaze scorches half an acre of undergrowth at Pipers Vale in Ipswich




A large fire has scorched half an acre of undergrowth at a nature reserve.

Six fire engines were called to Pipers Vale in Ipswich at 3.44pm, off Sandy Hill Lane.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said no casualties were reported.

By 6.12pm, crews had scaled back and were damping down the scene.

Suffolk Police is also involved in the incident and has been approached for further information.
