Ipswich: New Asian supermarket set to move into old Argos unit in Carr Street

A new Asian supermarket is set to move into the old Argos in Ipswich town centre.

Signs have gone up for the new store at the vacant unit in Carr Street.

The store has been empty since 2019 when Argos moved into the Sainsbury’s in Upper Brook Street.

The new supermarket will open in Carr Street.

In 2022, plans were approved to turn part of the building into flats.

Work has been ongoing to convert the inside of the building, located opposite the old Co-op department store, which is set to be demolished and turned into a school.

It is also located near Ipswich Bazaar, another supermarket, which moved into the old Poundland unit earlier this year.
