A14 westbound reopens at Sproughton, near Ipswich, after car fire
The A14 near Ipswich has reopened after a car fire.
Emergency services were alerted to the westbound route, at junction 54, in Sproughton, at 11.39am.
Officers said there was a crash involving three cars, with one having caught fire.
A full westbound closure was in place between junctions 54 and 53, with tailbacks reaching Copdock Interchange.
A spokesman for Suffolk Police confirmed recovery was at the scene.
A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said two crews, from Sudbury and Long Melford, attended.
The fire was extinguished using hose reel jets.
The spokesman said three people in the cars were inspected at the scene and, although none were injured, paramedics urged them to get themselves medically checked.
In addition, spilled oil was cleaned up from the road.
The Environment Agency was warned.
The road reopened at about 2pm.
