A Suffolk Fire and Rescue spokesperson said there was household building waste and tyres being burnt in a field.

Two appliances attended the incident and firefighters extinguished the blaze with hose reels.

A Bramford resident said: “It’s the second fire we’ve had in seven days and it’s very worrying when we live so close to fields and woodland as it would be a disaster waiting to happen if the summer gets dryer and hotter, it really scares me.

“It’s worrying every year with the risk of fire but it’s never been a risk or worry in April - it will only get worse.”

Fire engines left the scene at 2.45pm.

Suffolk Police and the Environment Agency were informed.
