X-Factor star to open this year's Haverhill Show
The incoming chairman of the Haverhill Show has praised the man he is to replace while also revealing that X Factor star Wagner will be performing at the July 15 event.
Earlier this year current chairman David Doughty announced that this would be his last show as he was relocating to Colchester.
Show vice chair and town councillor, Joe Mason, said: “David will be greatly missed, he has made a huge contribution to the town and without him it is unlikely that Haverhill would have such an event bringing the whole community together.
"I am delighted to have been asked to take on the role of chairman.
"With the invaluable support of the Haverhill Show team we are 100% committed to ensuring the Haverhill Show continues to support the local charities and good causes that are so valuable to the town.
"We want to recognise the contribution and generosity made by local businesses and services and make sure the Haverhill Show is great day out for all the family.”
The Haverhill Show Team are looking for volunteers to join the committee and help develop the show for future years and give a few hours of help on the day.
This year the Haverhill Show is sponsored by HID, with over 25 other local businesses sponsoring attractions and activities such as the Car Show, Dog Show, Baby Show, Live Music, Arena Performances, not to mention the countless rides, activities and the wide selection of amazing food on offer. For bargain hunters there will be a car boot sale around the perimeter of the Recreation Ground.
The 2018 Haverhill Show has many new attractions with a Bike Show and a mobile cave attraction. There are circus workshops, even Haverhill Rocks UK will be there inviting people to get involved in the latest painting craze to have hit the town.
There is a beer tent and a mobile Gin & Prosecco Bar and Wagner will be there to open the event at 10am, meet people and perform.
