Two elderly women in critical condition after crash on A1307, near Horseheath, between Linton and Haverhill

Two elderly women are in a critical condition after suffering life-threatening injuries in a crash.

The collision was on the A1307, near Horseheath, between Linton and Haverhill, on Friday at about 7.30pm.

It involved a blue Daihatsu Sirion and a blue Nissan Micra.

Emergency services attended and the road was closed.

The driver and a passenger in the Daihatsu, both women in their 80s, were taken to hospital with serious injuries and both remain in a critical condition.

The driver of the Nissan, a man in his 40s, suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
