Two burglaries in one day in Haverhill

Police news.
Police news.

A number of items were stolen from a house in Haverhill while another house was burgled, although nothing was taken, on the same day.

The first break-in occurred between 1.30am and 3am yesterday (Thursday December 11) at a house in Roman Way.

Entry was gained to the property via an unlocked rear door and a number of items were stolen including a Nikon Coolpix camera, an Amazon Kindle and a number of bottles of alcohol.

This was followed by another incident yesterday evening at around 6.30pm, at an address in Forties Close.

The glass in the back door was smashed in an attempt to gain entry to the property, however this activated the burglar alarm and scared the offender away.

Anyone with information about either of these crimes is asked to contact the Bury St Edmunds Priority Crime Team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
