Thatched roof collapses as Woodbridge, Clare and Haverhill firefighters battle blaze at Little Thurlow property




A thatched roof has collapsed as firefighters battle a blaze at a village property.

Multiple fire engines, a water carrier and other support vehicles are at the scene of the fire at the detached property in Church Road, Little Thurlow, after being called at 6.32pm.

A fire service spokesperson said the roof was fully ablaze and had collapsed.

The fire is under control with firefighters working to prevent it spreading.

They said two people were present at the property and were in the care of the ambulance service.

As Little Thurlow is a small village, there is some traffic around the incident scene, they said.

They advised people to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.

Engines from Woodbridge, Clare and Haverhill have attended along with a water tender from Halstead and other support vehicles.
