This hilarious play was written by Willy Russell and like most of his well known pieces, it deals with working class society in England.

Stags and Hens is set in a trashy disco in Liverpool in the 1970’s and takes place mainly in the disco toilets where both Linda, a bride to be and Dave, her groom, have both decided to hold their stags and hens nights, not knowing that their other half is at the same place.

When Linda’s ex-boyfriend, Peter, arrives it causes an uproar between Linda and Dave’s friends, however the two groups gang together to stop Linda taking up the offer of an escape with her ex Peter.

She is then forced with a difficult decision - to stay or to go.

The run of this show takes place at The Old Court Theatre, home to Chelmsford Theatre Workshop (CTW).

Tickets can be purchased via the website and also via the Civic Theatre box office line.

CTW produces up to nine shows a season (September-August) and offer a variety of productions to theatre goers.

Coming up over the next few months are shows such as Terry Prachett’s Mort, The Vagina Monologues, The Turn of the Screw and Sweeny Todd the musical, to name but a few.
