Sanitary products donation to support Haverhill’s school girls

An underwear company in Haverhill has been supporting young girls in the town’s schools by donating sanitary products.

Staff from Figleaves, which has a distribution and customer care service centre in Homefield Road, have provided products at Churchill Special Free School as well as Samuel Ward and Castle Manor academies.

Welcoming the donation, Georgina Ellis, headteacher at Churchill, said: “Our girls are small in number but face the same challenges as those in a mainstream setting.

“It is vital that we give priority to all of their needs.

“Staff at Figleaves have been amazing in the range of products that they have donated for us.

“Our girls will be able to confidently select products if they need them.”

Carol Paddison, head of people at Figleaves, said: “I feel so sad that girls might miss school because they can’t afford sanitary products.

“Colleagues have donated items and there are also donation points around Haverhill for people to help out and drop things off.”

Donation points in the Haverhill area are Creation Hair Studio, Haverhill Rovers Football Club, the town’s Slimming World groups, Hair by Naomi in Kedington and Ketton Early Birds Pre School in Kedington.
