Raise a glass for Haverhill’s first beer festival
Haverhill market will be hosting its first ever beer festival this weekend.
The festival will include 12 different ales from six English breweries alongside four craft lagers.
The two- day event will be held in Market Square on Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5.
It is the latest in a series of market events put on by St Edmundsbury Borough Council to encourage more shoppers and visitors to the town.
The beer festival will be run by The Market Square Group and will also feature live music, Indian and Thai Food, Spanish saucisson, French cheeses, arts, crafts, clothing, jewellery and more.
Cllr Alaric Pugh, St Edmundsbury’s cabinet member for planning and growth said: “We hope Haverhill’s first open-air beer festival on the Market Square will be an immense success and become a regular feature on our calendar of events.
“With lots of different beers to sample, fine foods, live music, arts, crafts and of course our fantastic loyal bunch of regular stallholders on the Saturday, this has all the ingredients of being a brilliant weekend in the town and will hopefully attract visitors from far and wide.”
Paul Kennedy, event director at Market Square Group said, “We can’t wait to bring this event to Haverhill and looking forward to a great weekend with all the family.”
The event will be open from 10am to 9pm on Saturday, and from 10am to 7pm on Sunday with beer served from 11am both days.
Entry is free.
