A143 near HMP Highpoint closed in both directions after person suffers serious injuries in crash

A person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the A143 at Stradishall.

Emergency services were called to the scene near HMP Highpoint at 2.30pm, following reports of a single car crash.

Volunteers from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service were also in attendance.

A SARS spokesman said: "The SARS team treated a patient at the scene for serious injuries before accompanying them by land ambulance to hospital."

The road is currently closed in both directions, affecting traffic travelling between Haverhill and Bury St Edmunds.
