Haverhill man imprisoned for sexually assaulting a child

A Haverhill man who sexually assaulted a child has been imprisoned for more than 13 years.

Andrew Kinsella, 28, of Abington Place was sentenced to 13-and-a-half years in prison and given an extended licence period of five years by Judge David Pugh when he appeared at Ipswich Crown Court last Friday.

Kinsella had already pleaded guilty to nine offences, all committed between March and November, 2018, at a previous hearing.

He admitted four offences of sexually assaulting a child under 13, one charge of inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, one count involving a serious sexual assault against a child aged under 13 and three counts of making indecent pictures of children.

The court heard that 180 of the indecent images were in the most serious level A category, 178 were in category B and 76 were in the lowest level C category.

Kinsella has also been placed under a sexual harm prevention order until further notice, been ordered to sign the sex offenders' register indefinitely and been given a restraining order not to contact his victim either directly or indirectly until further notice.
