Kitten rescued by team from Haverhill Fire Station after being stuck on roof in Flatford Road
A kitten has been rescued by firefighters from Haverhill Fire Station after being trapped on a steep roof for 30 hours.
Described by his owner Mark Dennis, 57, of Flatford Road, as a ‘16 month old bundle of feline trouble’, Neo was found wide eyed and frightened.
Mr Dennis thanked the team from Haverhill Fire Station who helped get Neo down yesterday calling it a ‘slightly different task’.
He said: “We were advised by the RSPCA to leave it for 24 hours to allow him to make it down. But nothing would tempt him and he was absolutely petrified.”
After attempting to get Neo down himself, Mr Dennis called the fire service.
He said: “They arrived within 10 minutes and were excellent”.
“It was a lovely act of public service and it was heartwarming to see all the genuine smiles as Neo was brought down alive and very kicking.”
The kitten was unharmed by his adventure and after eating twice his body weight in food, he had a nap.
“Neo now has a new best friend in the young man that finally rescued him,” added Mr Dennis
