Haverhill Santa sleigh ready to hit the streets and raise money for charity
The Haverhill Santa is gearing up for its annual tour, bringing some festive cheer while also supporting charities.
Organised by the Haverhill Show Committee in collaboration with Disco Kitchen, Haverhill Santa’s tour schedule is now confirmed and it will once again be raising funds for the Joshua Tarrant Trust and REACH Community Projects, both Haverhill-based charities.
“We have 15 events planned this year, and we can't wait to get started,” said Joe Mason, co-organiser of the Haverhill Santa.
Festivities kick off on Saturday, November 30, at Haverhill’s Market Square, where Santa and his sleigh, guided by Dave Wilson from Drive Green Vehicle Services, will join the Christmas Carnival Parade organised by the town council.
The festivities will include special appearances by Mrs Claus, Santa’s entourage of cheerful elves and a familiar festive face - the mischievous Grinch - who is expected to make a memorable return.
"It’s always a thrill to see the happy and excited faces of children when they get to meet Santa," said Kelly Bennett, co-organiser.
"The Grinch can be quite naughty, and goodness knows what he’ll get up to this year!"
The Santa Sleigh team is also excited to bring holiday cheer to surrounding communities, including a special Christmas event in Kedington.
Co-organiser, Andy Palazon, said: “We are thrilled to be part of the Haverhill procession and honoured to join Kedington for their festivities as well.
“Hopefully we can raise a good amount of money to support these two wonderful charities,”
To keep everyone informed, the Haverhill Santa team will post updates on the new Haverhill Santa Facebook page, which Mr Mason advised people to keep checking in case of weather-related schedule changes.
