Fire at Haverhill community building could be racially aggravated say police
Police are investigating whether an arson attack on a Haverhill building used by Muslims was racially motivated.
Two fire appliances from Haverhill and police attended the building on the corner of Camps Road and Crowland Road just after 11.45pm last night, Sunday November 10.
The building is used by the Muslim community as a family centre.
Entry had been forced and a small fire is believed to have been started deliberately. Firefighters had the fire under control by 12.30am. The building was empty at the time and nobody was hurt.
A police spokeswoman said: "Enquiries are continuing at this time and police are investigating the matter as a racially aggravated incident."
