Those of a nervous disposition should stay at home on Friday, October 30 as East Town Park will be full of gruesome Halloween sights and frights.

The Halloween Trail, organised by Haverhill Town Council, is free, suitable for all the family and this year starts at 6.45pm to 7.15pm, and again at 7.45pm to 8.15pm.

Nick Keeble, arts and leisure manager for the town council, said: “This year we have something up the witch’s sleeve that gives me the creeps just to think of it.

“We’ve also introduced new start times. It seems the people of Haverhill people love to have their blood curdled and their bones chilled and the event has got more and more popular over the years.

“The new system will hopefully mean families can pick the time that suits them best and allow them to see the ghoulish attractions quicker.”

Dressing up is encouraged but wearing suitable shoes is vital. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

l There is no parking available at East Town Park and not all the site is accessible to those with pushchairs or in wheelchairs. The event is free but there will be a donations bucket.
