Haverhill youth assaulted by bottle-wielding attacker




A teenager required hospital treatment after being attacked with a glass bottle in Haverhill.

The youth was assaulted in Strasbourg Square after an argument broke out at about 6.40pm on Thursday, October 31.

A police cordon was put in place around the crime scene for a few hours.

A Suffolk police spokesman said: “Following initial police enquiries, it was reported that the victim (aged 17) had been in an argument with three other teenagers – at least one of whom is believed to have been known to him.

“The victim was then struck over the head with a glass bottle and as a result sustained lacerations to the side of his head, which required treatment at hospital."

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and any witnesses are asked to contact Haverhill Police on 101, quoting reference 66167/19.
