CCTV appeal leads to assault arrest

A 26-year-old man from Haverhill has been arrested after a CCTV appeal in relation to an assault in Haverhill.

The incident took place between 2.30am and 2.45am on Sunday, May 31 in the High Street.

The 21-year-old victim was assaulted, suffering minor injuries for which he required hospital treatment. The attack is believed to have taken place across the road from Boots.

The man was arrested on suspicion of assault GBH with intent and taken to Bury Police Investigation Centre. He has since been bailed to return on Thursday, August 6.

A CCTV image was released and Suffolk Police have thanked the media and members of the public for their help with the appeal.
