Haverhill car crash driver sought by police after fleeing the scene




Police are appealing for witnesses to a dangerous driving incident in Haverhill.

It took place on Withersfield Road near to the junction with Broad Street at about 6pm on Monday, June 10.

A silver Renault Traffic van, index mark AV14 VUO, travelling towards The Pightle collided with a parked black Volkswagen Eos car, pushing it into a house and causing some structural damage.

The van then crossed the road, narrowly missing traffic before crashing into a brick wall in the grounds of the West End Congregational Church.

The van's driver ran off but has now been traced by police. The passenger stayed on the scene. Both sustained minor injuries.
