Suffolk coast could face flooding as warnings issued at Southwold, Lowestoft and Felixstowe

Several Suffolk coastal towns could face flooding today, according to Environment Agency warnings.

From Felixstowe to Clacton, in Essex, including the Orwell and Stour estuaries, minor flooding to coastal roads and footpaths is likely.

Between 1.30pm and 3.30pm today, tides are expected to be higher than usual and the flood gates at Felixstowe seafront will be closed.

High tides are expected at the harbourside and an Environment Agency spokesperson urged visitors to take care on coastal roads and footpaths and avoid unnecessary danger.
