A14 closed at Felixstowe after lorry overturns

A crash closed the A14 westbound in Suffolk on Friday, causing long delays for motorists.

The road was shut from junction 59 Trimley St Martin to junction 58 for the A12 and A1156 at 5.25am

A lorry overturned onto its side and blocked the carriageway.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue, Suffolk Police and ambulance crews attended the scene.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said they were called at 5.25am and there were no injuries.

Video posted on social media showed very long queues in the Felixstowe area as a result of the crash.

Due to the complex nature of the recovery of the vehicle it took several hours for emergency services to clear the obstruction.
