Lloyds Banking Group is to close a further 136 branches, it has been announced
The move will see Britain's biggest mortgage lender shut 61 Lloyds, 61 Halifax, and 14 Bank of Scotland sites between May this year and March 2026.
The only branch in Suffolk to be affected is the Halifax branch Felixstowe, expected to close on June 2 this year.
All workers affected by the closures will be offered alternative roles, the group said - as customers increasingly use digital channels for their day-to-day banking.”
A spokesman said: “Alongside our apps, customers can also use telephone banking, visit a community banker or use any Halifax, Lloyds or Bank of Scotland branch, giving access to many more branches.
"Customers can also do their everyday banking at over 11,000 branches of the Post Office or in a banking hub.”
