Felixstowe boy Freddie’s wish comes true after riding in Poundland lorry
A Felixstowe boy saw his dream come true after he was given an opportunity to ride in a Poundland lorry.
Freddie, 5, who enjoys watching the Poundland lorries from the Felixstowe port, enjoyed a ride in one of the company’s vehicles after a worker heard about his wish.
Hannah Martin, training manager in Harlow, said: “I received an email telling us all about Freddie’s wish and asking us if we could do something really special for him.”
Freddie, along with his parents, was invited to the Poundland Harlow distribution centre in Essex where he was made the firm’s ‘honourable’ colleague for the day.
“He came in and had a fantastic time. He was made up when he walked in, he was just so happy. It was a real dream come true for him,” said Hannah.
“He really loves his Poundland lorries.”
Freddie being only as tall as one of the wheels, was shown around the lorry and went home with a basket of goodies which included a toy truck, a stress toy and a name badge.
Hannah added: “We pulled a trailer onto our spare car park specially so Freddie could enjoy a good look around.
“One of the managers beeped the horn for him and he gave a huge smile. It was a really lovely moment.”
“Freddie had an amazing day with us, we really enjoyed having him here. We didn’t want him to go.”
