Fire crews from Diss, Stowmarket, Haverhill and more attend barn fire in Eye
Firefighters have started to scale back their response to a huge barn fire near Eye.
Crews were called to the blaze, measuring approximately 40m by 20m, at Poplar Hall Farm, in Occold Road, at 12.08pm.
The blaze was described as 'well alight' by a Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson.
Around 400 tonnes of straw and 100 tonnes of hay were also alight.
Firefighters from Diss, Harleston, Woodbridge, Framlingham, Leiston, Saxmundham, Stowmarket and Haverhill were sent to the scene.
A stop has now been called to the incident, after crews created a fire break to protect adjacent buildings.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service urged residents to keep their windows and doors closed.
They are also recommended that people avoid travelling to the area.
