VIDEO: Terry Sands says Bury RUFC’s home support helped spark them to life

The Haberden home crowd helped to make the difference in Saturday’s 25-11 bonus-point win over Worthing, according to Bury’s playing chairman Terry Sands.

The ex-England Sevens manager was delighted with the way his side threw off a lethargic first half that never really got going from the home side’s perspective to run in four tries for back-to-back home wins.

Sands, speaking to sports editor Russell Claydon after the final whistle, also revealed the players had been given a dressing down in the home changing room at the interval.

Bury moved up to 10th in the National League Two South table, up two places and leap-frogging Worthing, following the result, with hooker Beau Gibson touching down twice after the Sussex visitors socred the game’s first try, while further important scores came from wingers Sam Goatley and club captain Chris Snelling.
