VIDEO: Bury Town boss pleased with ‘workmanlike performance’
Bury Town manager Ben Chenery was delighted to see his side get back to winning ways on Saturday, in what he described as a ‘workmanlike’ display at Ram Meadow.
The Blues bounced back from surrendering their unbeaten start to the season in the Ryman League in a 3-1 Tuesday home defeat against bottom side Heybridge Swifts with a 2-0 success over Great Wakering Rovers.
First-half headed goals from Justin Miller and Ollie Hughes proved enough to earn all three points, leaving Chenery to reflect on a solid, if unspectacular display on Non-League Day when speaking to sports editor Russell Claydon at the final whistle.
Bury are back in action against at Ram Meadow tomorrow night (Tuesday) when Cambridgeshire rivals Soham Town Rangers, now under new management after Steve Fallon left the club at the end of last week, visit west Suffolk (7.45pm).
Chenery’s side are third in the table and can move up to second with a win.
The Free Press understands Bury are close to adding to their squad after holding successful talks with a player who could be in line to make his Blues debut tomorrow.
