Bury Town have revealed their chairman Russell Ward is currently taking a break from his role at the club.
Ward, who was elected chairman in 2001, was absent from a special pre-match dinner put on to thank sponsors for their help with the summer’s clubhouse rebuild on Tuesday.
Vice-chairman Adrian Lewis told the Free Press: “Russell has taken a month out and is reconsidering his position. I am vice-chairman, so until then I will be in charge.”
Ward, when contacted, did not wish to comment.
