Window now open to apply for primary and secondary school places for September 2023
Parents and carers can now apply for places in primary and secondary school for September 2023.
The window is fast closing, with the deadline for secondary school applications ending on October 31 of this year, while primary school applicants have until January 15, 2023.
Late applications will be processed after all those submitted on time.
Suffolk County Council revealed that 95% of students got their first choice of school this year, while 99% received a school within their top three.
Last year, it processed over 15,000 applications.
Councillor Rachel Hood, Suffolk County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, SEND and Skills, said: “Parents and carers should carefully consider which schools to apply for on behalf of their child.
"It is important that they complete and submit their application by the relevant closing date to give their child the best chance of being offered a place at one of their preferred schools."
The council has urged parents to take travel into consideration when selecting a school.

Families planning on moving house before the window must still submit an application on time, but take the move into consideration.
The council is urging residents to apply online, although where this isn't applicable, a paper CAF1 application must be submitted.
Offers for school places will be revealed on National Offer Day, which is 1 March, 2023 for secondary school, and 17 April, 2023 for primary school places.
Parents can log on on this date to see if their choices have been approved.
A letter of confirmation will also be sent out on the day, although it will be sent second-class for those who submitted paper applications.
