West Suffolk Hospital introduces free staff parking during coronavirus crisis




West Suffolk Hospital has introduced free car parking for staff during the coronavirus crisis.

In a tweet yesterday, Dr Steve Dunn, chief executive of West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, said: "Pleased to announce free car parking for staff while we are dealing with coronavirus.

"Least we can do to help staff help our patients and community."

In another tweet, Dr Dunn said staff were converting a discharge waiting area into an expansion intensive care area.

He added: "Great job team. Appreciate all you’re doing."

Yesterday, the hospital in Bury St Edmunds confirmed that a patient who tested positive for coronavirus had died.

The hospital is treating two patients with COVID-19.
