West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds congratulates parents of first baby born in 2025

The maternity department at West Suffolk Hospital has congratulated the parents of the first baby born there in 2025.

In a Facebook post, West Suffolk Maternity at the Bury St Edmunds hospital said baby Dyer was born to proud parents Gaby and Steve at 4.41am.

They said: “She weighed 7lb 7oz, and her parents are still deciding on what to call her.

“Our midwives have always enjoyed the ‘race’ to deliver the first baby of the new year, and this year that honour went to student midwife Jess.

“Congratulations to Gaby and Steve - we hope your daughter grows up to love that fireworks announce her birthday every year.”
