Bury in Bloom celebrates winners of its Greene King Green Fingers Awards
Groups and individuals around Bury St Edmunds have been recognised this week for their gardening greatness.
The Athenaeum on Angel Hill hosted Bury in Bloom’s Greene King Green Fingers Awards on Tuesday with awards given to the likes of schools, care homes and nurseries.
David Irvine, Bury in Bloom coordinator, said: “Given the hot and dry weather the judges were amazed and delighted at the quality of entries they were shown.
“There were so many good entries we wanted to recognise, we once again introduced special awards. We have some very talented gardeners - of all ages - in Bury St Edmunds.”
The ceremony comes shortly after Bury in Bloom saw success in the Anglia in Bloom Awards on September 7 and now the group is hoping for more recognition as a finalist in the Britain in Bloom competition.
The results of which will be revealed on October 10 in RHS Lyndley Hall, in London.
