Owners of Munchies Sandwich Shop in Brandon near Thetford, close today after finding burst pipe blocking its entrance

A Suffolk couple who own a popular town sandwich shop have had to close today after they found flowing water from a burst pipe was blocking its entrance.

Scott Smith and his partner Mandy Jones, who own Munchies Sandwich Shop, in Wimbledon Avenue, in Brandon near Thetford, found the huge leak outside the site’s door this morning.

In a post on the shop’s social media page, the pair said they were sorry not to be able to welcome customers today.

They added: “The Anglian Water team are doing everything they can but it’s just not safe for us to open, we will keep you updated with how things are going.

The pair opened the shop in November last year, and sells the likes of paninis, toasties, pies, sandwiches and even pick-and-mix bags of sweets to their customers, as well as having treats for dogs too.
