Walsham-le-Willows set for 40th Open Gardens Weekend
Later this month, the village of Walsham-le-Willows will be transformed into a giant exhibition of gardening, as residents open up their own homes to curious visitors.
The community is marking its 40th Open Gardens Weekend on August 28 and August 29.
45 gardens and spaces will be open for viewing by the general public.
The event is billed as the 'original' weekend of its kind, having been first organised at the suggestion the Reverend John Rutherford almost half a century ago.
Alongside the gardens, a barbecue and pizza experience are on offer this year, with a musical accompaniment to be provided courtesy of the Breckland Brass Band and the Gislingham Silver Band.
A village market will be staged simultaneously, with all manner of Suffolk arts, crafts and produce on sale.
Visitors are being charged £8 per head, with each ticket guaranteeing the holder access to all gardens throughout the weekend.
Children under 15 go free, and the organisers say they are open to negotiating discounted entry for groups.
All proceeds raised from the weekend are to be donated to village causes, including the maintenance of St Mary's Church.
