Two teenage boys from the Lowestoft area arrested on suspicion of murder of Joy Middleditch from Pakefield




Police investigating the death of an elderly woman in Pakefield have arrested two teenage boys on suspicion of murder.

The boys aged 14 and 15 are both from the Lowestoft area and have been taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Joy Middleditch, 82, was found conscious but in a serious condition at her home in Grayson Avenue, Pakefield shortly after 1.50pm on Saturday, March 25.

She was then taken to the James Paget Hospital - where she died in the early hours of Monday, March 27.

Police made the two arrests earlier today and have said they are pursuing numerous lines of enquiry.

The attack, which left Joy Middleditch lying on the floor, is believed to have taken place between the evening of Friday, March 24 and the early hours of Saturday, March 25.
