Crowds gather in Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds as tribute acts take over for Nearly Festival
Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds paid host to large crowds over the weekend, as the public gathered to enjoy a selection of tribute acts.
The Nearly Festival, which took over the gardens throughout June 10 and 11, featured tributes to the likes of Queen, the Spice Girls, Lady Gaga and the Beatles, as well as Suffolk’s own Ed Sheeran.
Large turnouts were reported for both days.
Organiser Adam Coulton said: “We were very blessed with good weather. We had an amazing turnout at the weekend – 1,400 people in on Saturday, 1,000 in on Saturday.
“The atmosphere was just cracking all weekend. We couldn’t have been happier with it, really.”
“I just wanted to send a massive thank you to everyone who came to Bury St Edmunds, anyone who travelled into town for the event.
He added: “We’re very much looking forward to seeing you again next year.
“And huge thanks to everyone down at the park, and the rangers who worked so hard to keep the park so beautiful, because it’s such a wonderful setting for us to do the event.”
