Primark in Bury St Edmunds set to open in 2024

The highly-anticipated Primark in Bury St Edmunds is set to open next year.

Posters have appeared on the windows of the arc Shopping Centre’s flagship store, which says the retailer will welcome customers in 2024.

Primark confirmed in November that it would open a store at the former Debenhams in Bury, creating 90 jobs.

At the time, the company said it expected to open before the end of 2023.

Primark has been approached for comment.

In September, it started recruiting for the role of store manager but said there was no news to share about the shop’s opening date.

The company has now posted vacancies for a team manager, department managers and an assistant manager.

Earlier this week, shoppers caught a glimpse inside the premises after coverings on the windows were removed.

They could see that the shop’s escalators had moved and now face the entrance doors.
