Bury St Edmunds Carluccio's restaurant shut for months is set to reopen

A Bury St Edmunds restaurant which closed earlier this year is to reopen.

Carluccio's, in the arc shopping centre, was thought to have closed permanently.

This summer the Carluccio’s brand and 30 sites in the UK were bought by the Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG) which owns chains including Giraffe and Ed’s Easy Diner.

The Bury St Edmunds restaurant was not part of Boparan's initial purchase list but after subsequent negotiations with landlords, the company took on two extra sites - Bury St Edmunds and London’s Brunswick Place.

The restaurant has remained closed since then but a Carluccio's spokesman today confirmed it is due to reopen at the end of next month.

They said: "We plan to open the Bury St Edmunds restaurant at the end of November subject to government restrictions and guidelines and look forward to welcoming back our local customers."
