Bury St Edmunds Golf Club, on Tut Hill, Fornham All Saints, could have new bar to accompany extended driving range

A town golf club could have a new bar to accompany its extended driving range.

SuffolkNews reported in January plans from Bury St Edmunds Golf Club, on Tut Hill, in Fornham All Saints, to enhance and improve its driving range were approved by West Suffolk Council.

As well as the extension, the proposals included installing safety fencing, building a detached range building and increasing the amount of car parking on offer.

Now, the club has submitted a licensing application to the council, related to the driving range, to include a small bar area in the new facility.

The application said it would be in its entrance lobby and there would be no changes to the existing licensed activity and operating hours.

The club said the application for the new bar area was solely to reflect the addition of the new building.

The space will have CCTV and a written policy will be in place to deal with disorderly alcohol-related conduct.

Music and audio from TrackMan will be controlled.
