Bury St Edmunds The Parkway Surface car park, near Cineworld, to close for three days for resurfacing work

A Bury St Edmunds car park will close for three days this month for essential resurfacing work.

The Parkway Surface car park, in Parkway, near Cineworld, will be closed between Wednesday, October 18, and Friday, October 20, for essential repair work, including resurfacing and relining.

The multi-storey, which provides both short and long stay, will be open on Wednesday, Thursday and most of the Friday, but will close after 6pm on Friday.

This is to enable resurfacing of the entrance and exit lanes.

Vehicles already in the multi-storey will still be able to exit the car park.

Cllr David Taylor, cabinet member for operations, said: “The surface car park is well used and in need of this work to fix some of the damage that has occurred through regular use.

“The work is being timed to avoid clashing with other car park works, and ahead of the school half-term as well as the build up to Christmas when there will be increased demand for parking spaces.

“That said I recognise that it will cause some disruption to people who regularly park there, and I ask that people bear with us while we get this work done to improve and repair the car park surface.”
